Things to do in Paris in the Springtime
The warmer months are also the most popular times to holiday in Paris, so visitors may want to book their stay months in advance. There may be some long lines at the most popular sight-seeing venues, but even a long line is worth it to experience all that Paris has to offer. Paris is a city stooped in culture and like many other European cities, Paris has many events and fairs. The Foire de Paris is a carnival-style fair that celebrates food, wine, and design. It starts at the end of April and runs through May. The Foire du Trone is another carnival-style fair that runs from the end of March through April and has been around in one form or another since the 12th century. For those that really want to take in the artistic treasures of the city, Museum Night in May is the only night each year, where there is no fee to visit any museum in the city, and they are open all night long. A trip to Paris is incomplete without a night at Le Moulin Rouge. Can-can dancers will entertain you throughout the evening. If you like dancing, then also visit Le Batofar, which is a red boat on the Seine River, where techno and experimental music fills the air between the dancing locals and tourists. There are also many cafes, discos, and bars throughout Paris where visitors can enjoy a lively nightlife. The Eiffel Tower is on every visitor's list. It was constructed in 1889 and is the most visited monument in the world. It took 3 years to build this breathtaking tower, which was created as an entrance for the World's Fair that marked the centennial anniversary of the French Revolution. The Louvre Museum, flanked by the glass pyramid, is home to many art collections that date back for thousands of years. Guests can feast their eyes on such famous works as The Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Victory of Samothrace. Not too far away The Arc de Triomphe is another attraction that can't be missed. This 50-meter high structure was the arc of triumph for Napoleon's army for many years. Additional sites that visitors should take in while visiting Paris in the Springtime include the Place des Vosges, Paris' oldest square; Notre Dame de Paris, the Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral that took almost 200 years to build; The Seine River, which offers wonderful cafes, places to stop and rest, and breathtaking bridges.
